Description

Our Aged Whole Bone In Country Hams are dry cured and hickory smoked: incorporating time, patience, and the traditional family recipe to produce a delicious product. These hams are aged 12-14 months, giving them a much more complex and intense flavor that many of our customers prefer when enjoying them as charcuterie; similar to how folks enjoy an Italian prosciutto ham or Spanish serrano ham.

With an average weight of 15-17 lbs, whole hams are packaged in brown paper and a cotton sack and make excellent gifts for any country ham connoisseur.

First thing that hits you is the intoxicating smokey aroma coming from the box when it arrives.  Honestly surprised the UPS people didn't flag this thing the aroma is so incredible.  Taste is incredible.  Thinly slice it like prosciutto / Serrano to enjoy with some cheese and fruit.  Yes it is very salty, so a little goes a long way.  Careful when you're slicing, don't hurt yourself or your knife.  Very stable before slicing into it, but for the average home I recommend breaking it down with a heavy duty cleaver and vac sealing portions to freeze cause it will last you forever.  Just used the bone to make a pot of red beans and ooooooh mannnn.  Exceeded expectations and a fantastic value.

Packaging great; smoky scent even better.  HOWEVER, when you pay $78.00 for a ham based on advertising, you expect to get what you pay for.  The advertising said, "15-17lb. average."  Unfortunately, this is below "average."   Bummer.  Looking forward to tastin' this, though.  I'll let y'all know!
